Appointments are made in a location most suitable to the assessment and treatment being provided, most often in your home or at your chosen vendor location. We can discuss options in our initial phone call meeting.
Assistive Devices Program for Mobility Devices
I am an authorized provider for the Assistive Devices Program in Ontario. That means that if you would like to receive 75% off the cost of a new walker or wheelchair or scooter, you must be assessed first by an authorizer and be approved through this OHIP funding application. These assessments are typically completed in-home but can be arranged at a local vendor as well.
Aging In Place
Aging in Place is the goal for many. The desire to remain in your own home independently, and safely is often of paramount priority.
An occupational therapist can help with giving helpful recommendations for:
- new strategies for doing typical tasks, or devices to help with your daily activities,
- considerations and options for home renovations,
- community resources, if necessary

Chronic and Persistent Pain Solutions
Chronic or persistent pain is pain felt in the body longer than 3 months. Often there was an original physical injury but scans note no further tissue damage, and yet your body continues to feel REAL pain. I provide treatment with education and movement to help you achieve the greatest recovery you can. I provide the PGAP (Progressive Goal Attainment Program) if you qualify, but typically will take pieces of that program to give a more individualized treatment plan for you.
Exercise for Basic Health and Mobility
I have training in exercise physiology (BSc. HK) and understand the importance of strength, balance and flexibility in maintaining mobility and independence in all activities of daily living. I can prescribe a basic plan for you to follow at home to help improve your strength and stability and get you feeling more confident in your every day activities.

There are times in life when we might just need a friendly face to chat with - about life, about the past, about the future, about your successes or about your goals. I'd be happy to chat.
Activities - various
Keep an eye out here for individual and group offerings to practice mindfulness/awareness, self-care/kindness, and being connected to our emotions and the physical environment. Feel free to reach out if you have any interest in being more ACTIVE in your mental health and creativity journey!
Falls Prevention
Falls prevention in-home assessments are BEST done BEFORE a fall, but if you have fallen, it is wise to have a scan of your environment and a physical assessment of your body to determine any causes/solutions to help prevent any further falls.
Topics often discussed include: safe use of mobility devices, recommendation for living areas (indoor and outdoor) to provide safe mobility, footwear, exercise (indoor and outdoor) , winter safety, etc.
Cognitive and Memory Testing
The word Dementia is scary to many people, but like all disease, it is best if it can be diagnosed early. There are treatments and resources to help when necessary.
These are in-home assessments, where you feel the most comfortable, to do baseline testing of your memory and cognitive ability. These results can be documented in a report to share with your primary care provider.
Falls Prevention education is often included in these visits as memory decline and falls are often co-existing.
Sleep Hygiene and Insomnia Solutions
Are you having trouble with sleep at night? Do you feel tired or 'foggy' during the day? Are you on sleeping aids but want to decrease or stop their use? There are a multitude of reasons why you might not be sleeping. We can sort out a plan to navigate getting a good sleep again.
Mental Health
The body and the mind combine to make a holistic person. Some also include spirituality in the context of having good mental health.
We can work together to understand any limitations you may be feeling from a mental health standpoint to help you get back to doing the things you want to do, need to do, and to help you feel successful in every day.
Mindfulness and Meditation
Being mindful, or being more aware is a practice that anyone can learn and benefit from. It is amazing how being more aware of everything (your environment, your physical body, your thoughts and emotions) can help with overall health and wellbeing. Let me teach you how!
