Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What IS occupational therapy?

In occupational therapy, occupations refer to the everyday activities that people do to occupy their time and bring meaning and purpose to life.  This could include any activity you fill your time with, including basic things like getting dressed or moving around your home and the community, to complex activities like volunteering or going to work. Therefore, although it CAN mean ‘return to work’, its more often a return to life!

2.  How many sessions will I need?

That depends on the reason for your visit.  Some services are one-visit consultations but should you need follow-up or choose a treatment plan the initial assessment/visit could be increased to achieve your goals.  The number of visits will be discussed during our introductory call and you can decide what suits your current and future needs.
